The Irishman – Teaser Trailer Response

I’ve been waiting for this one for a while. I was sold as soon as I heard Martin Scorsese was teaming up with Al Pacino, Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci for a film about a hitman.  I’m double sold now that I see it is tying in the story of Jimmy Hoffa, one of the most famous unsolved mysteries in American history.  It has also been a while since we’ve seen Pesci in a film, and I couldn’t think of a better way to welcome him back on screen!  It looks like this will get a theatrical run in addition to the VOD release.

Netflix has been known for their high volume of content in the past few years. Quality-wise, their films have been a little shaky.  This one, however, seems to have the style, gritty charm and storytelling acumen Scorsese is known for so I’d be surprised if it doesn’t make some serious waves with critics.  Netflix is tight-lipped about their numbers, but I’m making a broad guess that this will result in favorable viewing metrics on their platform.
